Slack

Connect Squid to Slack for instant notifications from Squid's VisitorID, letting you know who's on your website in real time. VisitorID transforms anonymous visitors into identifiable users, enabling you to retarget them effectively and capture more revenue.

Setup Slack

Create a new channel or use an existing channel. If you need to create a new channel, please follow this guide. If you are using an existing channel, just skip to the next section.

Setup Squid Slack Connector

In the Squid UI, go to the website you'd like to configure this Slack integration for. If you have multiple sites configured within Squid, you will need to setup a connection separately for each site.

Open 'My Connections'. You can find this in the top right menu bar under the plug icon.

Under 'Notifications', choose "Slack"

You will see a request from Slack to access your company's workspace.

Slack permission request

Choose the channel you's like to send notifications to.

Click "Allow"

Go to Slack and view the channel you chose (or created) in the first section. You should have received a notification within the channel that the integration was successful.

To disconnect the channel, just go back to the connectors section within your Squid dashboard, choose Slack, and click "disconnect".

Congratulations! You will now start receiving notifications inside the channel you chose when VisitorID identifies an anonymous user.
