Wordpress Plugin Installation
Installing the Squid Wordpress plugin into your Wordpress environment is done in a few easy steps.
You have the proper access to install plugins into Wordpress; typically this is some level of admin access.
You are on a current Wordpress version
You've download the Wordpress plugin here
We will discuss installing the plugin via the Wordpress admin console. If you'd rather install it via cPanel, we assume you are a more advanced user and know how to do this
Log into your Wordpress admin console usually located at: https://yourdomain.com/admin
Go to plugins located in the left-hand menu bar or at: /wp-admin/plugins.php
Click 'Add new plugin'
Click 'Upload plugin'
Click 'Choose file'
Choose the Squid Wordpress plugin file (it is a zip - DO NOT unzip the package) and click 'Install Now'
You should see an installation success message similar to this picture.

Click 'Activate Plugin'
In your plugins directory, you will now see the Squid plugin. Please note that your plugin version number might be higher.
Click on 'Settings' within this dialog. You can also find the plugin settings under: Settings > Squid Analytics
In the dialog box, paste your SDK script that you copied from your website settings in the Squid UI. If you don't have it, you can find it by going to https://app.asksquid.ai and clicking on your website. From there, go to settings. For more detailed instructions, please refer to this article.
Optional: You can check the Identity box. This will send the user's email address to Squid if they are logged into your website. Squid will use this to identify the user as they engage with your website.
Click 'Save Changes'
Please refer to this article under 'Verifying Your Installation' to ensure your Wordpress site is now communicating to Squid.
