Installing Squid on a Wordpress Website

Installing the Squid Wordpress plugin into your Wordpress environment is done in a few easy steps.

Prerequisites

You have the proper access to install plugins into Wordpress; typically this is some level of admin access.
You are on a current Wordpress version
You've download the Wordpress plugin here

Installation

We will discuss installing the plugin via the Wordpress admin console. If you'd rather install it via cPanel, we assume you are a more advanced user and know how to do this :)

Log into your Wordpress admin console usually located at: https://yourdomain.com/admin
Go to plugins located in the left-hand menu bar or at: /wp-admin/plugins.php
Click 'Add new plugin'
Click 'Upload plugin'
Click 'Choose file'
Choose the Squid Wordpress plugin file (it is a zip - DO NOT unzip the package) and click 'Install Now'
You should see an installation success message similar to this picture.

Connect Squid to Microsoft Teams for instant notifications from Squid's VisitorID, letting you know who's on your website in real time. VisitorID transforms anonymous visitors into identifiable users, enabling you to retarget them effectively and capture more revenue.

Setup Microsoft Teams

Create a new channel or use an existing channel. If you need to create a new channel, please follow this guide.
Once you have a channel, you need to create a webhook for it. Webhooks are just a way for applications such as Squid to securely send messages to the channel.

Follow these steps to create a new webhook in a Teams channel:

Select the team and channel where you want to create the webhook.
Click on the three dots (…) next to the channel name. Select "Manage Channel" from the dropdown menu.
In the Settings menu, under Connectors, Click 'Edit'
In the Search Box, type 'webhook'
Add the 'Incoming Webhook' service. When the 'Incoming Webhook' service opens the dialog box, click 'Add'. If you return back to the services search menu, just click 'configure' on the webhook service.
You should now see the webhook configuration screen. Provide a name for your webhook. As a suggestion, name the webook 'Squid VisitorID®', as this will be displayed in the channe
